Summer's not over yet! And Marcali Yacht is happy to remind you that the official end of summer isn't until September 21. Even though the kids are back in school and some families took vacations before school started, don't feel left out of a much-needed Summer Vacation Getaway! Hop on a plane, jump in your car, journey aboard your boat or plan a stress-free weekend at home in your own back yard - all in the name of Fun. Remember, the Labor Day Holiday is just right around the corner and with a little planning it could be the perfect opportunity for a laid back dose of Summer fun in the sun!

Here are some really cool ways to celebrate summer whether you pack up and go for a day, a weekend or longer, or you make your home or backyard your own Camelot. Take advantage of some of those fun and creative things on your wish list while you plan and enjoy quality time with family and friends in your perfect summer vacation setting.

To start, Florida has over 8,000 miles of coastline and half as many miles of inland waterways for yachters, boaters, paddling, fishing, sunsets, sunrises and jogging or walking on the beach.

1. Visit one of Florida's Top 5 boating destinations for world-class fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, island hopping, shelling, kayaking, bird watching, and miles and miles of white-sand beaches.
  • Jacksonville/St. Augustine
  • Fort Lauderdale/Miami
  • The Florida Keys and Key West
  • Tampa/St. Petersburg
  • Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach/Destin
And some of our personal favorites:
  • Fort Myers/Sanibel/Captiva Islands
  • Okeechobee Waterway/Caloosahatchee River
2. Craving a taste of the south? Then take off for a scenic drive along the 95-mile corridor from historic Charleston, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC. Charleston is beaming with southern hospitality and welcomes you to its many art galleries, parks, museums, historical buildings with dazzling architecture, charming attractions and a culinary scene that's crazy good. Can you say LowCountry Boil without drooling?

Check out these Top Stops along the way for an authentic adventure in the South:
  • Mount Pleasant
  • Bulls Island
  • McClellanville
  • Hopsewee/Santee River
  • Georgetown
  • Sampit River
  • Pawleys Island
  • Huntington Beach State Park
  • Murrells Inlet

3. Dreaming of catching that trophy fish? Then this is the getaway for you. Calling on all anglers far and wide to hit one of the top 10 U.S. fishing destinations and claim your victory. Fishing and these towns are as synonymous as peanut butter and jelly. Whether your catching or fishing, you won't be disappointed. Make your way to any of these favorite spots for the fish, and total relaxation like you've never known:
  • Boca Grande, Florida - Tarpon
  • Selawik Valley, Alaska - Sheefish
  • Castaic Lake, California - Largemouth Bass
  • Pamlico Sound, North Carolina - Red Drum
  • Lake St. Clair, Michigan - Muskie
  • Boston's Massachusetts Bay - Mako Shark
  • Lake of the Woods, Minnesota - Walleye
  • Mahoning Creek, Pennsylvania - Golden Rainbow Trout
  • Chesapeake Bay, Maryland - Striped Bass
  • Sacramento River (near San Francisco Bay area) - White Sturgeon
We couldn't resist adding just one more, another favorite of ours, #11:
  • Stuart, Florida - Sailfish

4. When leaving your 'castle' is just not an option, don't worry be happy, bring your summer vacation to your own back yard, lawn or the confines of your favorite room.
  • Build a fire pit and light a bonfire - invite the neighbors you've been meaning to get to know.
  • Plant your favorite herbs or veggies and celebrate your harvest.
  • Have a summer cookout and make your own BBQ sauces.
  • Camp-out in the back yard or any safe place and enjoy Mother Nature.
  • Hang a bird feeder and watch for your feathered friends to arrive.
  • Read a book to escape, brush up on your golf game or learn a new 'how-to'.
  • Block off a day for the kids or grandkids - plan it with their help.
  • Turn off your cell phone, tablet and computer for a day and spend the day organizing your garage or man cave; or for her, treating yourself to a pampering bubble bath and facial. End the day with a gourmet meal!

Give us a shout wherever you are about where you went on your summer vacation or how you spent some downtime or uptime to create your own memories for the summer of 2013. And of course we'd love to hear what you have planned for your fall boating season. Tight lines.
